Well after a VERY early start (birds not even up) we finally got through customs at Edinburgh airport.

Now came the wait for the plane journey to London City Airport. Plane now there is a thought elastic band and catapult rang a bell…. If only I knew!!!!!

13 Very excited children and some very anxious parents boarded the plane.   Being a first timer on this trip well maybe just me anxious eh!!!!!  1, 2, 3, and off we go…..  Once in the air the Niks Hair Salon opened, one by one the clients got there hair done. Nicolas fingers going like knitting needles 6 down 6 more to go…  We Landed London Airport to a lovely Saturday morning now just the bus journey to the Centre and all the hard work will finally be on display for all to see…

On the bus and Niks salon opens again and all the pleats are done, now just the beads and ribbons…. Don’t know whose idea that was !!!!!!!! Finally the Kestrel Display Team are all done and 13 cheery children now look forward to a great performance….

After months of hard work and sticky tape for mouths it all came to a head, 13 great hard working children did a fantastic display in front of loads of people. For the wee ones Louise, Kim, Shannon, Morven and Annaise it was there first time down in London they handled it very well, kept in line by Viv and taken under the wing of a bigger girl or boy Well Done All on a great display.

After the display we left for some lunch, Pizza Hut.  After being fed and watered we headed back to the centre for a few hours to watch some other fantastic displays, and then in no time we had to leave and check in at the travel lodge, shower tea and back for the disco…

After some deliberation on clothes make-up etc the girls are now ready to impress…..

Away to the disco we go…. Upstairs the adults have a nice relaxing drink or so we thought…. Next thing the fire alarm goes we rush down to gather our flock together they are all fine. False alarm music man got a bit carried away with the fake smoke. To the bar we go again…. At around 11.00 ish 13 very tired children and some very tired adults retire for the night…

After a nice comfortable sleep we start it all again.  Niks Salon is open and off she goes again.  “Form and orderly queue please”   Spray, plats, beads, ribbons, glitter and the masterpiece is done….

Again we do a great display, just time for a bite of lunch and a quick swim.  Then it’s back on the bus to the airport and home we go.  Again the elastic band is released and 1hr later we are home.  A great weekend was had by all involved. ROLL ON NEXT YEAR……..

A great big thanks goes to Frank and Linda Morris for organising the flights, accommodation etc... Vivien for the months of preparation in the display. (Well worth it Viv) and any others who helped make this a smooth and very enjoyable weekend….and finally
